Toilet Access & Vaping/Smoking

The school is aware and the property people (BoT I imagine) are looking at options because obviously smoking and vaping is not something they want happening. The difficulties are that toilet room ceilings are low and smoke alarms or other devices are not hard to reach to remove. Then school has a vaping/smoking issue and vandalism issue.

One awesome parent suggested utilising a method she used when at high school which involved a solid pair of Doc Martins thumping down the hallway and a loud banging of doors with a “Who is smoking in here?” approach! It was brilliant but probably not a viable option for any shy students. Something that was implemented elsewhere and suggested, is having each toilet's direct access onto the hallway or outside,, so no "foyer" area. Toilet Room Managers was also discussed but who would want that job and title?
