June 2022 - Meeting Summary - Part C

Student, whanau and Teacher will be involved in deciding if a student is ready to sit the test(s). THS will be offering students the opportunity to sit the tests each year, in Week 9 of Terms 2 & 3 which is May & September.

So, literacy and numeracy are now going to be a bit like School Certificate was but, unlike School Certificate, students get more than one opportunity to sit the test if needed and the student won't be required to redo the years learning. For those that do not struggle, they can do it once and as of next year, from year 9 and up. This means, once it's passed, those topics are all done and dusted! They can focus on their other subjects!
